One thing I do while designing a game is set out a few NPCs which are common characters in the story, and give them a character sheet so if something happens I know how much HP they have or what their WIS score is, etc. What I have to do now with dndbeyond is create that character privately, outside of the campaign, if I don't want my players to be able to see things on the character - especially if it's a villain. The ability to add NPCs into the campaign which aren't visible to the players would be awesome. Especially if you can then add them into combat rounds, as either an enemy or a friend.
