Allow DM-controlled players and mix of online and offline PCs

I play D&D at the dinner table with my 3 kids and my 2 brothers and niece on remote We use battlemats, cameras, and Discord with DDB Avrae integration on my own server. 

Because my kids are already at the table (and are under 13, hence don't have a google, twitch, discord, or ddb logins) I created all the characters for the entire party under my own DDB account. 

I want to be able to add these characters to my campaign (DDB currently won't let me since they not attached to a player invite), AND I would like Avrae to add better support for online and offline PC's within a single game. I've tried the addon bot "Rod of Discord" which adds some better PC aliasing to Avrae, but it's still not sufficient and it's too complex. I wish Avrae would do this out of the box.
