I like this idea a lot. I had a wizard previously and it was so tedious creating the scroll from homebrew every time.

It really seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to implement but is extremely important.

Would also be awesome if the spell, if readable by the character's class, would appear in the spell list for casting. Then when cast, the inventory item would revert to "blank scroll" or something. That would be really cool.

@Danny Novo, they don't create new rules items. So when a scroll was used it would just be expended and go away.

Though, I definitely would appreciate it having some kind of indicator between can be cast without a roll/can be cast but requires a roll/can't be cast.

At least having the window popout/hover-over functionality for the spell would be great

This would be great, although another solution that would help is not stacking spell scrolls of the same level as we could then at least customise the name and description of each one.

Along these lines I wish there was a spellbook item that just let you put the spell names of the owner's spells into it. It doesn't need to grant you the ability to read the spell descriptions, so it won't interfere with their pricing system. It just needs to have access to the names of every spell, and know their spell levels to organize the spellbook. This is for when you come into possession of another Wizard's spellbook, and need a list of the spells you can learn from it. Would make it easier as the DM to just put one into their inventory.

I'm new here, though. I don't even know if I can make my own suggestions. I will if I can, after a search for a similar idea, of course.

3 years, can this be a thing now?

It seems like it would be trivial and not require this insanely convoluted process: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/5828-spell-scrolls-in-inventory?page=2#c28

It even seems like having to do this is just a needless bloat to whatever datastore/backend exists.
