Homebrew nonmagical Equipment

As someone who mainly plays artificer, I would love this feature.  My current character, a kobold druid/artificer, built his own weapon to use in combat.  It also is one of his artificer infusions.  There is a large list of firearms in D&D rules, but none of them are in beyond, and the ones that are are not even on the official firearms list.  My only solutions are to make a custom magic item and not be able to control damage dice or weapon tags, or use a similar weapon and use the custom option in the inventory to add notes.  either way, I have to remember the damage dice that it should use and it just doesn't flow well.  On top of that, I had to make a custom feat to add an attack action in order to use the tail mounted club that he made.  Obviously there's things you can do to get around not having custom items, but it would make things so much easier.

I'm glad to see so many of you on the same page.  Maybe now that Beyond is in the hands of more capable management we can get some movement on this.  Given how much money I give this product annually its really a shame that 90% of their development has been about getting me to buy virtual dice I dont need instead of actual features like this that are, imo, utterly necessary for a proper campaign.

The question is now, how do we get an official response to this instead of just yelling into the void, as you can see this post is now 3 years old and they've never so much as commented on such a simple feature.  Its quite clear that despite sending people to this forum for exactly this purpose that they dont actually care to read anything in here.

I have to say I agree with a lot of what the guy above me says.

This should be a feature not yesterday, this should be a feature 2 years ago.

Custom Mundane Items, let me HomeBrew them.

I need to make several custom weapons and items and its become troublesome having to individually make them on each character sheet. Having the ability to homebrew non magical items has become essential.

Being that we can already HomeBrew non mundane items it would seem that it should not be a terribly hard thing to implement, being that it is the above with a bit cut out.

What's the hold up? Can we get a "planned"? How about some feedback?

Chop chop, this is a subs service.

How is this still not a planned feature yet?

I'm swiftly growing aggravated with the lack of response on this topic. The whispers I'm seeing in the forums seem to point to WotC not wanting to allow us to make/modify custom weapons, which is bonkers. We can make/modify the most absurd of spells and crazy magic items, but we can't customize weapon damage dice/types or create our own? Hate to break it ya, WotC, but I've been DMing for years and making custom weapons left, right, and center; now I find myself needing to do it in DNDBeyond but can't. You own this site now, there are no excuses left. Get this in the pipeline.

When you consider their silence on this topic, you know this post is bullshit.

I've been under the impression for quite a while now that - both specifically and generally - the problems we're presenting in this topic should be answered as we see more features rolled out from the Generic Feature System. Due to how they talk about a complete overhaul of the Homebrew system that'll be tied into the GFS, I can fully see them incorporating such a popular feature [they've mentioned it more than once in the Dev Updates on YouTube/Twitch]. While I am also a member of the crowd frustrated that we're lacking what seems like such a simple feature for years, now. I think I would still rather them focus on rolling out the fully-fleshed-out GFS that includes this feature, than spending that dev. time working on a half-fix that'll be replaced before too long when the GFU is fully out in the world.

    I'm cautiously hopeful.

I think we are all getting a little impatient, but to be fair, the post to which you refer does say, "..you won't see an official response on posts.."
