DM Override Class Restrictions
The ability for a DM to override and add something not normally available to a class would be fantastic. In the example given on the D&D Beyond forum: "Through some hilarious shenanigans in the campaign I lead, one of the characters has a cleric cantrip available to them. I cannot find a way to add this without manually typing the info in their notes section or giving them a junk "placeholder" item to bring the cantrip visible in their list of spells/abilities/doodads."
Please? Will trade Inspiration point for feature.

Would a Feat not be an existing and appropriate place to add this functionality (something similar to the Fey Teleportation feat)? By definition is the SRD, "A feat represents a talent or an area of expertise that gives a character special capabilities. It embodies training, experience, and abilities beyond what a class provides.", which sounds exactly what you're describing. They could then add it to their character sheet via the "Manage Feats" link in the character sheet. The bonus there is that there's not then some random, unexplained, untracked cantrip in their sheet (as you can trace it back to that Feat).

After thinking on this, yes, it would be a feat. My hang-up would be needing to create a Feat as a "wrapper" for adding a spell. I understand having a random spell would be confusing, though creating numerous Feats to simple add spells seems excessively cumbersome. If DM overrides or additions had an optional "note/reason" section, that would likely resolve this and a few other issues.
Either way, creating a Feat "wrapper" did allow this spell to be added. Thank you for the suggestion!
