I'd like to propose a feature to add arbitrary tags to any character and perhaps to homebrew content as well. The purpose would be to add a flexible organization system to character sheets so that the user can create tags to indicate campaign, adventure, encounter, npc, pc, player name, class, version, party, location, AL season, AL faction (Harpers, etc.), private, BBEG, and so on.
I think this approach would allow users to organize NPCs and PCs they create and quickly filter groups of characters for an encounter, or a campaign, or an adventure location, etc. Find all NPCs in a certain city. Find all PCs in a certain party. Lots of potential uses all enabled with one feature.
If homebrew content is included, it would be nice to add a content overview where you can see all various forms of content listed by tag.
I suppose the obvious objection might be that this functionality overlaps with planned features and might be confusing if there was another method to put characters into an encounter, for example. If future campaign or encounter building allows for putting groups of monsters or NPCs into a list, then it might be nice to add "bulk actions" to lists of items so that you could select all characters with a certain tag, and then "bulk add" the list to a campaign or encounter or whatever future tool is developed. That way, the tag system can be leveraged to transition to future functionality.
