Homebrew class interim solution
Implementing homebrew classes is not going to happen in the forseeable future, that much is clear. I would suggest adding "empty" classes. These classes would have no class features, they only serve to provide hit dice and a proficiency bonus. This could be used to make "clean" filler PCs for those who play a homebrew or 3rd-party class. For those so inclined, they could use a combination of homebrew feats and magic items to approximate their unsupported class. Obviously, this is not going to support automation of all possible classes, but it'll at least allow users to input the text via feats.
[ETA] If the empty class is given a subclass selection at lvl 1, homebrew subclasses can be used to approximate a homebrew class.

I realise that, but it is a long ways away, even if it moved from planned to upcoming tomorrow. This seems like a relatively easy thing that wouldn't cost too much time. Of course, I also realise that my estimation of this is likely to be inaccurate, so I'm definitely open to correction on that front.
