this is so true. there is no way to edit or adjust items you find made by others.

i really want this.  the other piece that no one mentioned is you can look at how someone did something in the homebrew so you can use that lesson for your homebrews.

I just hope that at least we don't have to do everything just for that one bit of change. Why are the devs not doing anything!?

They seem to believe that it will cause abuse of people abusing and stealing others work and discourage creative use of homebrew combine that with a nonzero amount of effort to create the block in publishing this copied and edited work.  It makes me very sad.

On the plus side they are closeish to revamp of the underlying programming structure and claims have been made that after this is complete fixing homebrew tools to be more user friendly should be easier for them and homebrew tool improvements remain on the tasks to do.

I get the idea of keeping things to the creators but the machinic I think are not part of that, what if they allowed the use of copying the way the rules are setup and leave out the flavor text.  It would be helpful to see how someone implements a bit action and how they calculate the damage based on ability scores, etc.   I dont need the flavor text I will make up my own.  I would think as most of here probably do is learn by example and being able to see that would be helpful to the larger community.
