The Repeating Shot class feature can be added on to DnD 5e Firearms because of the Ammunition Tag / flag. However, this feature cannot be used with Critical Role - Exandria Firearms - which has more content for firearms, because they lack the ammo tag.
In every, item description for Exandria Firearms - Pistol, Pepperbox, Blunderbuss, etc... the description has an Ammunition segment which states it uses ammo, however, it is missing the tag / flag in the actual weapons when you add it to your character and making them unable to use the Repeating Shot class feature.
I know the work around is to create a homebrew magical weapon, however, it would be not to not have to do that, and just use the built-in Artificer system, because the weapon isn't actually a permanent magical addon.
